The Ellsworth Community School District Foundation's Teacher of the Year Award is the highest honor the Foundation can bestow. The award consists of a significant cash award and a memento presented at the Ellsworth High School graduation ceremony.
The honor is designed to recognize a teacher who has demonstrated an unusual commitment to inspire students to reach their goals. Nominees should have earned the respect of students and others through sustained effort, high moral standards, and the likelihood of enduring beneficial effects on the students with whom they have worked.
Any current teacher within the Ellsworth Community School District is eligible for nomination. Any current student or alumnus who is not employed by the Ellsworth Community School District can make nominations.

Ms. Emily Stiemann, 1st Grade Teacher

This year’s recipient is truly remarkable at what she does. Her dedication to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for the children in her classroom goes above and beyond every day. She consistently brings a positive attitude and an infectious excitement to teaching. By building strong, meaningful relationships with her students and their families, she strives to bring out the potential in each child.
Ms. Stiemann serves as an incredible role model for her students and fellow teachers alike. The light and positivity she brings create an enjoyable and nurturing atmosphere that allows her students to explore, learn, and make mistakes without fear.
